RM of Cymri’s story
The Rural Municipality of Cymri No. 36 lies in the southeast part of Saskatchewan. It was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909.
Within its boundaries are the town of Midale, where the RM office is located, and the villages of Halbrite and Macoun, along with the locality of Blewett.
One heritage property stands in the RM: the Steven Peterson Residence in Halbrite. It was built in 1916 as the Gustav Peterson Residence and also served as a community meeting place.
Today the RM is home to Mainprize Regional Park, and it is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator.
